The profession of personal training is becoming more and more of a clinical nature. With this in mind, it's essential that the fitness professional wear many hats when catering to their clients. Although we can't go out of our scope of practice, we need to wear many hats--a psychology hat to address the emotional issues that relate to successful weight control, a rehab hat to address orthopedic pathologies that most individual possess and we need a hat that addresses hard core fitness goals. The doctor in this video is a clinical psychologist/author and especially recognizes the importance of the psychology hat that is necessary for achieving fitness goals.
